Finishing Touches

Good morning! I was up pretty late last night working on some perfect finishing touches for a design for a client as well as some artwork (I'll post pictures of that later today). These are more fun and girly to fit the style to the client, but I think they're absolutely gorgeous and can be customized to fit any style if you like them! They're for different rooms in her house, but they all are wonderful pieces. The two beaded frames aren't quite finished yet, but I'll post pictures when they are. They will have a gold flair to match the other pieces when they're done! They make the spaces all feel cohesive with the similar colors.

Lampshade Pictures

Lighting is incredibly important in a home. It sets the mood, gives the room cooler or warmer looks, and it's most important function: Allowing you to see! Most people think that the only way to have an interesting lamp is by having a colorful or unique base, but the shade is just as important! Making these lamp shades was time-intensive than anything. The cost of something like this varies by the style you're going for, but this lamp in particular I bought for about $25 and switched out the lamp shade for about $15. The client gave me free reign to do something creative, but she had mentioned before that she was a fan of skylines so I picked this design for the shade, and I'm happy to report that she absolutely adored it! I'm currently working on another one of these for a different client with a specific picture that they chose, and it's coming along pretty well! I'll post a picture when that one is finished.

Love Coins

What to do when you have an abundance of coins and some boards? Signs! This fun to make, and looks absolutely fantastic in a bedroom, playroom, living room, or really anywhere you have some un-used wall space. The best part about custom designs (from yours truly) means that I can make this sign say anything, in any color! Pricing on these kinds of signs vary, but this one right here cost about $40. Which is pretty good since the same type of things I've found elsewhere costs considerably more.

Vintage Globe

I love making cool design pieces and admittedly the inspiration for this one came off Pinterest. I went to the site they were selling these and I did a little research on how they made it, and I made the exact same thing for just over a 3rd of the cost ($65 vs. $155) without compromising any of the quality! Side note: This is why my clients  prefer to have me hand make their furniture and accessories rather than get them prefab. I can custom make them to be exactly what you want for a lot less than something store-bought!

Mosaic Mirror Frame

This one was super fun to do! I was re-doing a closet space for a client and they had this big, slightly irregularly shaped, mirror with no frame pinned to the wall. "Well this needs a proper frame!" I thought, but I wanted it to be bright and sparkly like the rest of the space, so what better way to frame a mirror than with more mirrors! It was surprisingly simple to do, and the end product looks amazing in the space!

Crate shelves!

This is a great bookshelf I put together with some sandpaper and some old crates! Really sturdy, and looks great. I also had the idea to paint each of the crates a different color or add some designs to the boards if it was in a kids room or play space. It's a bit of a more rustic look, but I find that staining the wood a darker color gives it a more polished feel if you'd prefer that.

Paint Dipped Stepping Stool!

Hello there! So first post: Paint dipped stool! A client of mine who has a 4 year old daughter approached me about a creative and cute way for her little girl to be able to reach the sink without needing to be picked up and as I'm already redoing the shelving in their bathroom, I went out looking for a stool that was small and sturdy, yet cute enough to fit into the theme of a little girls bathroom. I couldn't find one that really fit the space so I thought, I can paint. Why not make my own?
So this is what I came up with! I found a cute little stool that fits just perfectly under the sink, all painted and pretty for a little girl! Super simple and easy! Dipped in paint and then after that was mostly dry I sprinkled some cute confetti over it and covered over it with some special clear paint that seals it all from water and will keep the confetti on the stool! The little girl loves it and her mother tells me she uses it for everything she can't reach, so it perfect for anywhere in the house. Plus it's protected against water so even when she drips water all over it, not harm done!
